Clifton Ings Riverside Walk

The walk along Clifton Ings is a perfect walk for those water loving dogs. With the river on one side and large fields on the other, it is a great walk you can follow all the way into the city centre!

One of my favourite routes actually starts at the rawcliffe bar park and ride. If your dog is bus-savy, take the park and ride into town (perhaps have some food at one of the dog friendly cafes – We can recommend Lucky Day’s café!

After this, walk back along the river all the way back to the rawcliffe bar p&r where your car will be waiting!

There are many different routes to explore once on the Ings with lots of space to run!

Yearsley Woods

Now we love yearsley woods! There are so many routes however that I’m not going to draw them all out (We also just tend to follow paths as we go along!). Instead, I have added the best location to park below with an array of pictures from our various adventures. Walks in the woods can be nice short 30 minute bursts but we’ve also spent hours walking around, swimming in the lakes and getting lost! It’s one of those walks that can be exactly as you want it!

A River Walk Around Linton On Ouse

For our first blog post, we are going to be covering one of our favourite walks at Linton Locks. Be mindful that this route can have cows on them at certain times in the year. The biggest issue with this walk is parking. The local campsite, pub and locks themselves have signs stating that parking is not for dog walking. You may instead have to walk from the village. Due to this, the walk map starts from the opening to the locks from the main street in Linton On Ouse.

This route has 3 different length options which makes it a good walk for everyone. This is why we love this walk, its so customisable! Its also a nice big space so perfect for those who appreciate being able to see what is ahead! Below I have drawn the three different routes onto the mat, all of these routes come out further down the village where you can then walk back down the main street to your start point!

This first route is a nice short stroll of around 15 minutes.

Linton Short Walk

This second route is a little longer and takes around 30-40 minutes minimum and is a great walk if your dog like to go for a dip!

Finally, we have walk 3. This is the longest of the walks. This takes around an hour to complete.

A New Adventure…

We all know how boring it can be to walk the same places over and over. Even after a few visits, I find myself becoming bored and looking for somewhere new to go. What better way to explore the natural beauty that surrounds us than with our dogs! The aim of this blog is to provide you with maps and pictures of our favourite walks so you can find new places to explore with your furry friends! We are located in North Yorkshire so many of our walks will be local to York, Easingwold & Surrounding areas but as we revisit some of our favourite places, we will update with maps and pictures along the way!

Meet Luna & Arthur. These two love to explore and will star in many of our blog pictures! You can find more from these two at @adventureswithlunaandarthur on Instagram!DSC_0322.JPG
